Vancouver, British Columbia
A software engineering team in your time zone.
RapidIteration is a software development and AI engineering company based in downtown Vancouver. We work with organizations across British Columbia — and the rest of Canada — on custom applications, member platforms, system integrations and AI features.
Working with a local team
Being in the same city changes the practical parts of a project. Discovery sessions can happen in a room with the people who actually do the work. A difficult decision can be resolved in an afternoon rather than across a week of messages. Reviews of working software can include the staff who will operate it.
It also means we work your hours. Project reviews, releases and incident calls happen in Pacific time, without a team waiting for a window that opens at the end of your day.
None of that replaces the things that matter more — relevant delivery experience, a scope you can hold a supplier to, and clear ownership after launch. Our guide to choosing a software development company in BC sets out how to compare suppliers on that evidence, including suppliers other than us.
Software we build for BC organizations
- Member and community platforms: account access, resource libraries, group collaboration and event registration for associations and community networks.
- Internal business applications: replace spreadsheets and email handoffs with a shared workflow that reflects how your team actually operates.
- Integrations and automation: connect intake, CRM, finance and reporting tools so the same information is not entered twice.
- AI features with human review: knowledge search, document handling and assisted drafting, with evaluation criteria and a reviewer in the loop.
- Technology consulting: an assessment and recommendation before you commit to a platform, a rebuild or an AI initiative.
Work with BC roots
Healthy Aging CORE is the clearest example. We rebuilt the platform that regional healthy-aging networks use to publish resources, run member groups and manage events. The BC instance shares one Laravel application with the National and Alberta sites, with regional configuration, membership permissions and time-zone handling that lets a Vancouver event and a Calgary event both display correctly.
Men’s Sheds Canada gave a national network a website where someone can find their nearest shed on a map, in English or French. AIDRIVERS was product engineering: the AIFO fleet-management MVP for an autonomous robotics company.
Our own products, CareOps and Networkbase, are where we do our AI engineering in the open — source collection, model output and human approval inside a complete application, with the limitations written down.
Questions BC organizations tend to raise
Where will the data live? Canadian cloud regions are available and we can scope an application to use them. If an AI feature calls a third-party model, that provider’s region, retention and training terms are a separate question to settle before real information is involved.
Who owns the code? Repositories, infrastructure accounts, domains and third-party services should be named in the agreement, not assumed. Our engineering approach describes the handover we plan for before launch.
What happens when a grant cycle ends? For funded work, the maintenance burden after launch matters as much as the build. We would rather scope a smaller first release that your organization can afford to operate than a complete platform it cannot. Our Software Care Plan exists for exactly that period after a project closes.
Is custom software the right answer at all? Sometimes it is not. We look at available products and integrations first, and say so when configuring something that already exists is the better use of your budget.
Where to start
If the decision is clear enough to scope, tell us about the project. If it is not, a short technology consulting engagement can produce the option comparison and recommendation you need to decide.
Either way, bring the people who do the work, a walkthrough of the current system, and the budget or deadline you are working against. Those three things make the first conversation useful.
Before we begin
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Where is RapidIteration located?
Our office is at 422 Richards St #170, Vancouver, BC V6B 2Z4, in downtown Vancouver. We work with clients across British Columbia and the rest of Canada, and we are reachable at hello@rapiditeration.com or +1 778 512 0900.
Do you meet clients in person?
Yes. For organizations in Metro Vancouver and the Lower Mainland we can run discovery sessions, workshops and project reviews in person. Elsewhere in BC and Canada we work remotely, with in-person sessions arranged where they are worth the travel.
Can our data stay in Canada?
Often, yes. Canadian hosting regions are available from the major cloud providers, and we can scope an application to use them. Where an AI feature depends on a third-party model provider, the hosting region, retention terms and any cross-border processing need to be confirmed before the pilot handles real information.
Do you work with BC public-sector and health-sector organizations?
We work with nonprofits and associations in the health and community sector, including the Healthy Aging CORE platform used by regional networks in BC. Where an organization is subject to specific privacy, procurement or security obligations, we review those requirements during scoping and define any specialist assessment separately. We are engineers, not legal advisers, so your counsel should confirm the obligations themselves.
