Questions
Why should I trust this won’t pull a Toby?
Structurally, it can’t. Your data is stored locally in your browser and exportable as JSON at any moment. There is no server that can hold your tabs hostage, and a lifetime license has no renewal to leverage against you.
How does the Toby import work?
In Toby: account menu → Export, which downloads a JSON file. In TabVault: Import → drop the file. Collections, titles, and tabs all come across.
What’s free and what’s Pro?
Free: unlimited tabs, unlimited collections, saving windows, drag & drop, search, Toby/OneTab import, JSON export, themes — the complete core product, uncapped, forever. Does it sync between computers?
Not yet — local-first is the core promise. Sync via your own storage (export/import today, optional sync later) is on the roadmap, and it will never require our cloud.
