A clear next step for a complex technology decision.
Get engineering input before committing to a platform, a rebuild or an AI initiative. We connect technical choices to the people, budget and operations they need to support.
A clear basis for your technology decision
Platform selection, modernization and AI investment affect costs, operations and future development. We assess the alternatives and make the assumptions, dependencies and tradeoffs clear.
We help frame the problem, examine the current system and turn uncertainty into an actionable plan.
Where we can contribute
- Architecture and codebase reviews: understand dependencies, maintenance challenges and areas that need deeper investigation.
- Application modernization: identify an incremental path for updating a legacy platform.
- AI readiness: assess potential use cases, data constraints and evaluation needs.
- Technical delivery planning: define priorities, responsibilities and a first release.
- Platform decisions: compare custom development, existing products and integration options against your requirements.
A decision record you can take forward
For a modernization assessment, the deliverable can compare three options: keep and repair, replace one component, or rebuild. Each option should identify the problem it solves, dependencies, delivery risk, ownership and what must be checked before estimating.
For example, a portal assessment can compare whether the current system, an extension or a replacement can meet the required member permissions. The recommendation should identify the findings behind the preferred option and the conditions that could change it.
Before work begins, the proposal defines which code and systems will be inspected, who supplies access, the review depth, the written outputs, the fee and the completion date. Specialist security testing and certification work require a separately defined scope.
Deliverables for the next stage
We agree the outputs needed to move the decision forward: an option comparison, architecture outline, prioritized backlog or delivery roadmap.
If the next step is implementation, we can discuss a software engineering engagement. If your team will carry it forward, the recommendations should give them a clear starting point.
Our discovery guide shows how a brief, option comparison, acceptance checks and handover plan fit together.
Before we begin
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Can we start with an assessment rather than a build?
Yes. An assessment can clarify the options and produce a recommendation before you commit to implementation. Its scope depends on the decision, access to the existing system and the depth of review required.
Will you work with our internal team or current supplier?
We can scope a collaborative review or delivery engagement. We agree responsibilities and access up front so the work complements the people who already understand your systems.
Can you help with enterprise procurement?
We can discuss your technical, security and procurement requirements before proposing work. We review the required controls, contractual obligations and supporting documentation as part of scoping the engagement.
